What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Valarie Savage Kinney When I am able to get the voices that have been rattling around in my brain for days and sometimes weeks out onto paper, sometimes they shut up long enough for me to sleep.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Valarie Savage Kinney I deal with writer's block by taking a break. I know a lot of authors say to push through it, but for me, if the words aren't coming and the story isn't flowing, I figure that's my brain telling me it needs a break. I turn off the computer, go outside (I know! Gasp!), walk my dogs, play some Apples to Apples with my kids. The only time I can't do this is when I have a deadline, but still, sometimes even a short 30 minute break can help.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Valarie Savage Kinney The idea for my most recent manuscript began when the world lost Robin Williams, and morphed (and got stranger and weirder) from there.
