I suffered an anxiety disorder and couldn't find any books that offered me help I could relate to. I decided to write the book I wanted to read while I searched for ways to recover. The book is about my childhood and how it contributed to my condition, my recovery, a cruise to the Mediterranean and how I handled anxiety episodes in my travels, such as lost underwear in Barcelona and dangling in a gondola on the island of Madeira. It takes the reader to the splendor I would have missed had I not faced my fears.

I have to say that for most writers that I know, we write because we can't "not" write (sorry for the double negative, but it was a must for clarity). It's in our soul to write and so anything can inspire.

My next book, which I haven't decided which way to go yet. I have several ideas. I also write a blog at www.BronwynWilson.com. Check it out.

Find a writer's group in your area and get connected with other writers. Read "Writing Down the Bones" by Natalie Goldberg for inspiration, as it's the best book on writing that I have read. Also, "Bird by Bird" by Anne Lamotte is a good book on writing. Then just start writing whatever is on your heart to write.

You're in a zone all your own. You can say what you want to say and how you want to say it. You create a world from your imagination, whether it's fiction or non-fiction. In the process, you can reach others in a way you might never reach them in person. Hopefully, that made sense. (?)

I get away from the computer. I take my notebook and sit in my "thinking" chair and ask myself "what am I trying to say?" Then I begin writing to myself, knowing only I will ever see it. I just keep writing about what I'm trying to say. Usually, about five or six paragraphs down I'll see something I can begin writing about. It's like a break-through happens while writing. Also, I don't know why, but deep breaths before writing helps too.
