J.S. Campbell Writer's block always seems to occur when you are just trying to do one thing. I've found that if I have a few projects going at the same time, writer's block fades away pretty quickly. There's always something to write and depending on my mood, I can choose what to work on.
J.S. Campbell Getting to create your own world through expression, and when someone says they like what you've done.
J.S. Campbell Keep writing. Write every day. Write different things. Challenge yourself and don't be afraid of criticism (also learn to separate dissuasion from criticism). Lastly, build your vocabulary and experience as much as you can.
J.S. Campbell I am working on three books, including the sequel to "Shadow of Truth" entitled "Shadow of freedom." One is a horror/mystery entitled "Ecce Signum," and the other is "The Love Hermits of Foggy Bay," which is more of a drama or love story I suppose. You can find sample segments of all three new books on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/souperauthor.
J.S. Campbell For me, inspiration is sporadic. I have a muse that comes and goes. Most often I'll have an idea that keeps me up in the middle of the night or when I'm in quiet places, like in the shower, in my car when I don't turn on the music, or out in the wilderness. Occasionally I am inspired by events or people.
J.S. Campbell My recent book that I've published came after there was a shooting at the mall near where I worked. It reminded me that the world is a crazy place, and an even crazier one when politicians get involved.
