Lana Hart Probably Rose Tyler and the Doctor. I loved the slow burn of their relationship, how it transcended from friendship to romance, how they had to deal with one of them changing in major ways, becoming separated, saving the world together. I loved how the Doctor brought so much wonder to Rose's life, and how she brought a certain kind of grounding to his.
Lana Hart Sometimes I take a day or two to collect my thoughts, or zone out. Everyone needs a break. I'm not a big fan of the "write every day" creed. If that works for you, great. If it doesn't, don't be afraid to step away. Sometimes that gives us the perspective we need.
Lana Hart Readers enjoying my work. Seriously, that's what it's all about. I want to affect people. I want them to get invested in my words. If I can do that, every ounce of frustration and fear and anxiety is worth it!
Lana Hart Write what makes you happy. Write what quells the beast inside you. Write something that's going to affect us deeply, even if that means laughing until we cry or crying until we can't see straight. Write you.
Lana Hart I'm working on the sequel to The Spellbound Spirit. It's paranormal romance with a bit of time travel worked in. I'm using Camp NaNo to get the manuscript done and hoping to release the novel in October or September. This one is really fun for me. I love ancient Egypt and the mysteries the Titanic still holds.
Lana Hart Inspiration for me comes randomly. Sometimes I'll be watching a TV show or reading a book and think: "Oh, man. It would have been so much more interesting if they had done ____ instead!" Or sometimes I'll be petting one of my cats and I'll get an idea from the glare she's giving me. I try not to go looking for it, since that never works out. I just let it come naturally.
Lana Hart I wanted a way to introduce Sanctum Harbor to the world. Having people read my work (and enjoy it) means more to me than anything else, so I figured a free prequel would be a great way to get readers invested in the town I've created. Because of the constraints of The Spellbound Spirit and its timeline, there was really only one logical path to take, and that was to tell Jack Snow's story.
