Angela Hartley Copper Descent started out as an exploration of a dark figure who always appeared in my work. I though maybe if I discovered who he was, than he would go away. No one was more surprised than me to discover he was Lucifer.
Angela Hartley Inspiration is all around us.
Angela Hartley I'm currently working on a short story for an anthology called The Secret Door. I'm also working on revisions for Iron Resolve, book 2 in The Sentient Chronicles. I have a stand-alone novel I'm drafting as well. It's a cautionary tale of mass murder and hypnotherapy called D-Brie.
Angela Hartley If you can quit, quit. But if you discover you can't, you are not an aspiring writer. You are in fact a writer. We are all addicts here, and this is our drug. If you can't quit, I recommend that you indulge as often as you can.
Angela Hartley I love the rush of creating something new, and sharing those thoughts and ideas who may have never considered otherwise.
Angela Hartley Usually, when I'm blocked there's a reason. I'm either not being true to my characters, I'm forcing the story to go in a direction it doesn't want to go, or I'm not in love with what I'm writing. The best way I've found to break through is to take a long walk, and consider where I have to start over. Sometimes I have to throw away thousands of words, and others, I just dredge through the muck until I can get where I want to be.
