Where do I start? Working wherever I want - whether it's at home in my pyjamas or in a cafe in Venice. Having an excuse to research all kinds of interesting ideas. Getting to play around with words all day. Hanging out with other lovely writers. Hearing from readers who have enjoyed what I've written. It's the best job ever!

My advice would be to keep writing, writing, writing. I find it's easy to get caught up in the pitching, but it's also important to keep writing new material. If I'm stuck and don't have any picture book ideas, I write a poem or a work on a longer piece. But I'm always writing something!

I'm getting ready for the launch of YUCK SAID THE YAK in September. I'm also finishing the edits on my second picture book, PIRATES DON'T DRIVE DIGGERS, which is slated for release in spring 2015 (if I ever get it finished...)
