So we are in the final stages of releasing a new book that is such a departure for me entitled, "Lessons from the Farm: Essential Rules for Success" I am so stoked about it. Also, my first book "Got Social Mediology?" is currently being translated in Arabic, and that is really cool as well.

As I mentioned previously, I step away and distract myself with something else. Sometimes I just watch cartoons, or an old movie. Sometimes I just look out the window if I am at the beach, I just watch the water, sometimes a good nap helps in the middle of the day. Most of the time, I just need to relax my mind and when it hits me, no excuses....go write!

Because I write non-fiction, it is knowing that I have a sincere desire to help people be more successful and improve their lives and businesses. The best thing is knowing that there is something in whatever book I write that is focused on someone else and not myself. And they will benefit from what I write.

Learn as much as you can about the business of books. I made so many mistakes that never gave me a true ROI. Also, know that stats...99% of books never sell 1000 copies in a lifetime. This is not an industry you are gong to get rich at. As a matter of fact it is becoming more of a vanity industry, because so many people self-publish. Do it right! Spend the money! Hire the best people you can afford! Always be excellent! Use the book as a platform to speak from...not as a source of income.

Most of the time it appears to come out of a conversation, or something I read, and I say to myself, "This is a book". When it comes to the actual writing, I work in spurts. I like to go to the beach and just look at the water, and let my mind wander, and then....BAM! The words come to me and I start writing.
