From the classic world, I would have to say Anne and Gilbert from Anne of Green Gables.
In the last ten years, my favorite has to be from the Clockwork Angel series and, if you've read the series, you'll know why I say that I am in love with Tess, Will, and Gem. Don't make me choose.

As of now, no, BUT that doesn't mean that is the complete end to Alexandra. I'm currently working on a fantasy series and it it taking up all my time that I haven't been able to write more about these characters. Once I get this new series with a new publisher, I would love to do some brainstorms and revisit them!

Not yet, but I'd recommend anything by Ally Carter if you haven't read them yet :)

Not really. I did include an invitation/letter at the end of Van Gogh Gone for readers to rate my book because that is a good way for authors to spread the word about their books. I did ask my beta readers to be rate/review my books honestly.

I love to read. My goal is 50 books a year. I'm behind this year because I've been working a lot, but I'm still hoping for around 35 this year. I've found that audio books allow me to "read" the books I'm interested in. I also believe that the best writers are readers!

I'm so happy to hear you want to be an author. It can be an exciting and rewarding job. My favorite part about writing is brainstorming and writing the first draft of the story. This is where the characters begin to make decisions (sometimes ones that I hadn't planned on them making).
My currently published books are Remembrandt and Van Gogh Gone (Remembrandt #2), though Van Gogh Gone won't be available for purchase until November. Both books are young adult suspense with a spy theme. I plan on there being at least one more book.
I also have another book I am currently working on that is a young adult contemporary fantasy.

I'm currently working on a contemporary fantasy about a teenage boy who has lost the ability to feel emotions. When a dare brings them back, along with the emotions of others, he discovers he's Sin-you, a mythological chimera capable of healing and harming through emotional wavelengths.
I was inspired to write this book from my experiences with friends and family with emotional hardships and how they affect the people around them. Some people "shut off" their emotions to cope and this idea sparked my new main character, Derek. What if we couldn't feel? OR, maybe worse, what if we feel everything?

Write! Don't let anything hold you back. It doesn't matter your age or your experience. You can have a full-time job, kids, or nothing at all. All that matters in that you have a desire to create something that is within you.

I like to take things that I've always wanted to do and put it into a story. The idea of Alexandra came because of my love of spies. I also loved reading the children's series, Cam Jansen. Cam has a photographic memory. I decided to take that a step further. What if someone could see everything they did like it was a recording in their head? I found out this was similar to an eidetic memory so I decided to use that as one of Alexandra's qualities in Remembrandt.
For my next series (not yet published!) I got the idea of having a main character who could sense what others feel. I brainstormed different mythological creatures and their abilities. I decided I wanted to use the idea of a unicorn because they have the ability to heal as well. I did some research and found some stories in mythology where there was a chimerical creature called a Sin-you that was half-unicorn and half-lion. There wasn't much by way of information on this chimera so I decided that I needed to write its story. Thus, emPathetic (Sin-you #1) was born.

I love getting a story in my head out on paper. There is something deeply satisfying about being able to choose what your characters do - until they start having a life of their own, which some characters just like to do.

I'm working on the last part of Remembrandt #2 so that I can get it to my publisher in the next few months.
I am also revising another series I have been working on the past few years. It is a contemporary fantasy with elements of mythology and, of course, romance.

I don't usually get writer's block, but I do have to sometimes let my writing sit so I can plan out how a scene will play out in my head before I put it on paper.
I've also found that reading or watching a good show can give your brain some time to relax.

Ted, I chose Brown University because I liked the idea of Alexandra going to an Ivy League that was more lenient on choosing a major. After I did more research, I loved the atmosphere and scenery of the school and Providence. And, if you've read Remembrandt, you'd know that I like a university where students and professors share close relationships.
I wish I could have gone there myself! I followed after my family legacy and chose BYU as a university, but I have an obsession with the East coast and Providence, RI. One day I will visit and would even love to pursue a graduate degree there.
