Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Robin M. King I'm currently working on a contemporary fantasy about a teenage boy who has lost the ability to feel emotions. When a dare brings them back, along with the emotions of others, he discovers he's Sin-you, a mythological chimera capable of healing and harming through emotional wavelengths.

I was inspired to write this book from my experiences with friends and family with emotional hardships and how they affect the people around them. Some people "shut off" their emotions to cope and this idea sparked my new main character, Derek. What if we couldn't feel? OR, maybe worse, what if we feel everything?
