Lois V. Harris Another biography about a gutsy person with an inspiring life story---don't like to reveal the name at this stage as I'm still researching and might change my mind.
Lois V. Harris Art has inspired me to research the subjects of my biographies. For my Lotta Crabtree: Gold Rush Fairy Star book, I viewed a painting in the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. The artist had painted the figures of famous historical figures in San Francisco. One was a young woman with beautiful red curls. I discovered she was Lotta Crabtree, a famous entertainer who had performed for the miners during the Gold Rush. Lotta also gave to San Franciscans a fountain which stands today across from the hotel on Market Street. I researched her life and learned she was a gutsy gal who became a national star and America's first comedienne---and wrote her biography!
