If I could travel to any fictional book world, I'd definitely choose Narnia. Magic, talking animals, Aslan! The idea of a whole different world that can be reached through our own was immensely appealing to me as a child, and if I was allowed to visit, I'd seek out Aslan and ask what I can do to help. Oh, and I'd want to ride a centaur. And have tea with Mr. Tumnus. And eat Turkish Delight. Oh, and I'd take a selfie with the famous lamp-post in the background--to prove I was there, of course.

Learn as much about the craft as you can. Take classes/workshops, connect with other writers, and read A LOT. It’s amazing what you can learn by reading other people’s work.

Writing is a sort of therapy, I think—an outpouring of what’s inside of me, whether it’s soulful or painful or joyful. Making a story out of those feelings is immensely satisfying... and the idea that other people might read it and get something out of it is the icing on the cake.

Oftentimes, when I have writer's block, there's a reason for it. Either I'm not comfortable with where the story is going, or I need to develop something more fully in order to tackle it.
There are many mornings when the last thing I want to do is write, but I force myself to concentrate on sitting in front of my computer (even if it's plotting or researching) until X amount of time has passed (usually 15-30 minutes). More often than not, I'm able to push through the block--and the next thing I know an hour or more has passed.
Also, I find that taking a break (to fold the laundry or change the sheets, for example) can refocus my energy.
