Either I'm not comfortable with where the story is going, or I need to develop something more fully in order to tackle it.

There are many mornings when the last thing I want to do is write, but I force myself to concentrate on sitting in front of my computer (even if it's plotting or researching) until X amount of time has passed (usually 15-30 minutes). More often than not, I'm able to push through the block--and the next thing I know an hour or more has passed.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Only I had salmon. That was the meal I chose for the Abitz Family Dinner to honor the award winners of the 2024 Florida Book Awards in Tallhassee. What We Wish For, a book I spent years writing and revising, a book whose main character is largely based on me, won the Gold Medal for the Young Adult Fiction category. This is something I dreamed might happen for my first b
