She recognized the way the handsome guest carried himself even with the slight limp because she watched him come and go every day for months he held her captive. HIs new face was thanks to a well paid plastic surgeon even though that same surgeon didn't fix the limp from the knife she buried in his leg after she sliced his face to escape.

While there are a few "family" mysteries in my life I contemplate writing about, my mystery starts my first book. I kissed a very handsome stranger in a parade who asked me to meet him at the end, and I didn't because that's not what nice girls do! Of course kissing strangers in a parade for a paper flower was OK--this is New Orleans and it was Mardi Gras. I always wondered what would have happened if I had gone to meet him. Now, I'm glad I didn't because that's how Rescued By A Kiss starts with her going to meet him at the end of the parade.

While I've always been intrigued by couples who are in love, both fictional and real, I'd have to say my all time favorite is from the 1976 movie, ROBIN AND MARION. They reconnect when he returns from the Crusades, they are both aging but the spark is still there. It's a moving love story combined with adventure. Of course, Sean Connery plays the aging Robin and Audrey Hepburn the mature Maid Marion who is now in a convent! A close second would be Clive Owen as King Arthur and Kiera Knightley as the courageous Guinevere in the 2004 movie KiING ARTHUR. For me, this story makes the most sense of how they got together!

I keep a notebook of ideas and things I see or someone tells me. I'm writing ideas down all the time or a funny story someone tells me. When I'm ready to write I look through my notes and see what prompts me to tell about it. Living in New Orleans pretty much means you stay inspired, it's just trying to find time to write and take time away from some other fun thing to do is the challenge.

I love writing because it lets me say and do the things on paper we shouldn't say or do in real life! Writing is the great equalizer and it's good for stress release. I've even worked out differences in my characters that has helped me in life.

So far I've been lucky. I don't get blocked other than for time to write. My big obstacle is getting a block of time to sit and get it down.

I'm currently working on DEAD & BREAKFAST, the 2nd book in my series THE NEW ORLEANS GO CUP CHRONICLES. I hope to have it published in the late spring of 2015.

I am a local, born and raised in New Orleans and ideas to write about are all around me. The first book in my series THE NEW ORLEANS GO CUP CHRONICLES morphed from something that happened at a parade combined with doing breed - schnauzer rescue work.
