D.R. Perry This is a difficult one to answer because I am under an NDA for the most exotic research I've had to do.

What's been weird for me to research lately concerns toxic substances in the early Twentieth Century. I'm learning a great deal about how things we consider poison today used to be sold as medicine.
D.R. Perry It's hard to pick a favorite because so many are entertaining. However, one stands out. Molly and Arthur Weasley.

They've been married through seven sons and a daughter, lived through two iterations of Voldemort trying to take over the world, and they're still in love. Not only that, they have more than enough in their hearts to care for all those rambunctious ginger children, Harry, and their eventual in-laws.

They're also not perfect either. Arthur's quirky fascination with muggle technology gets them in trouble and Molly judges Fleur based on her looks. They both come around, stand up, and to the right thing when straits get dire, however.

So, here's to Molly and Arthur! May they have an entire regiment of grandchildren! I have full confidence that they can handle that many. ;)

D.R. Perry Short answer: With music!

Long Answer: I get all kinds of ideas from songs, but that's the lightning-bolt kind of inspiration where an initial "what if" idea comes from for either a plot or a character. "What if a bear shifter had to pass an exam while trying not to hibernate" came after reading some books about people who turn into bears and then hearing Skillet's Awake and Alive. If I didn't listen to music (and sing along sometimes with creatively altered lyrics), I don't think I'd come up with so many ideas.
D.R. Perry Start! Don't let that blank page or monitor stop you. Even if you have to start with the most cliche sentence ever. Think of it as priming your word pump. And once you do start, make a date with your writing. Pretend your manuscript is a buddy, touch base with it regularly.
D.R. Perry I'm working on the third Providence Paranormal College book, Of Wolf and Peace. It's been a blast drafting it, and the first editing pass has it shaping up nicely. I also outlined the fourth book, but its title is secret for now!
D.R. Perry I sit down and write something, anything, in the time I have. I might be blocked on a current project, but I can still write a poem or flash fiction piece. I also edit when I'm stuck. Sometimes going back over the previous book shakes things loose.
