I might be blocked on a current project, but I can still write a poem or flash fiction piece. I also edit when I'm stuck. Sometimes going back over the previous book shakes things loose. (less)

This is a difficult one to answer because I am under an NDA for the most exotic research I've had to do.

What's been weird for me to research lately concerns toxic substances in the early Twentieth Century. I'm learning a great deal about how things we consider poison today used to be sold as medicine.(less)

Interview: Steve Higgs

Today I'm interviewing Steve Higgs, who writes the Blue Moon Investigation Agency series. It's a humorous take on the Paranormal and Urban Fantasy genres, so needless to say I love it. Read on for more about him.

Steve Higgs won his first award for writing when aged just ten. Of course, saying it was his first award suggests that there have been more since, which there haven't. However, years of Read more of this blog post »

D.R. Perry shared a quote
Love and Rage by Lama Rod Owens
“The great activism needed today entails bridging our personal grieving with the grieving of our communities. Our anger arises over our pain and is only pointing back to our pain. To hold space for our pain is a way that we begin to take care of our pain. Taking care of our pain softens our hurt as we do the work of empathizing with ourselves. Empathizing with ourselves makes it easier to empathize with others around us. This empathy is at the root of the love and compassion that will begin to disrupt the systems that create harm.”
