Yes. Here it is:
America blindly continued its normalization of narcissistic tendencies and "us-vs.-them" mentalities until another, horrible, deadly Civil War happened in 2053, costing millions of lives. The war was waged with nuclear weapons, and tore the country into seven separate states, all economies of which are decimated and three of which became totalitarian regimes.

Wow! Excellent question! I believe that in their own way, every books are mysteries. I think my own mystery that might work for a plot are the ins and outs of the human heart. What does it mean to love someone? Where is the line between true emotional intimacy and someone simply being "close" to us? That's a mystery that I've wondered about has something I would like to tackle as a major theme for a story---though I have no ideas yet as to what genre would be the best to tackle that. Thanks for the great question!

In 2012, my brother had an idea about a 'boy-dragon' concept. I told him it probably had already been done before (it has), but that what he needed was to find a way INTO the story. An access point. I gave him the idea of dragons being real long, long ago, but they became genetic stowaways on the DNA of the very creatures they knew would survive. The very humans humans hunting them. Then, a year and a half later, in 2014, I had finished my last project, wondered what the next one should be, and the dragon story came back to me. It wasn't too long before I became obsessed with it.
Amazingly, here I am, about three years later, and it's published. I'm still pinching myself!

I know writers always say this, but it's true: WRITE. Dare to write something horrible. You have to be BAD at something before you're any good at it. Enjoy the process of getting better.

I've always said, "If you wait until you're inspired to write, you'll never get anything done. Inspiration comes by DOING. Write when you're NOT INSPIRED IN THE LEAST. That's how one becomes inspired."
(...though it is nice to write when you ARE inspired. However, a writer who wants to get anything done CANNOT wait for that to show up.)

I write something else, and come back to what I wrote. Often writer's block comes either from a lack of confidence, or being too much of a perfectionist. I go into it knowing I'll probably erase or polish more than half of what I write, so it's pretty freeing to just GO. That, or, I write notes ABOUT what I'm writing----notes about structuring a future sequence, etc. When you're in the thick of writing, often what you plan to write takes a different turn, and THAT'S when you know something's working.
