Goodreads asked Nathan Smith Jones:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Nathan Smith Jones I write something else, and come back to what I wrote. Often writer's block comes either from a lack of confidence, or being too much of a perfectionist. I go into it knowing I'll probably erase or polish more than half of what I write, so it's pretty freeing to just GO. That, or, I write notes ABOUT what I'm writing----notes about structuring a future sequence, etc. When you're in the thick of writing, often what you plan to write takes a different turn, and THAT'S when you know something's working.
