Nicholas Maes My ideas for books come from without but my desire to write comes from within. I wake up early to get an hour of writing in before work, I've arranged my day so I can put more hours of writing in, and part of the weekends and holidays are reserved for writing as well. I'd even say I became a teacher in part because it would give me lots of time to write. In final analysis, someone is a serious writer (in my opinion) not because she's managed to get a book published, but because she writes at whatever chance she has. No one has to remind her to write; it's just something that she does, day in, day out, as mch as possible.
Nicholas Maes I've been teaching in a high school these last 12 years and have three children of my own. Issues such as parenting, Ritalin, bullying and technology have raised their heads repeatedly. Two years ago I wanted to come up with a story that would deal with these issues in an engaging, somewhat over the top fashion and as seen through eyes of a teen who's sick of buying into the 'System'. And so Third Brick from the Right was born!
