I have just finished The CCC in Northeast Iowa. I am now working on the CCC in Southeast Iowa. Again, I realized that young people know nothing about how much the Civilian Conservation Corps assisted young men, and also US! Specifically, in Iowa, how our state parks were built by these young men and we use them now. I'm learning so much from this. Again, I'm finding men who were in the CCC and love telling their stories!

My most recent book was Prohibition in Eastern Iowa. I realized, after having an activity director what was Prohibition, that the young people only know about Al Capone and the Untouchables. I wanted to tell what happened in Iowa. I was lucky to be able to speak with the children of moonshiners and bootleggers.
