My most recent idea manifested within me because of an invitation from writer/editor Terry M. West, to contribute a new story to his anthology JOURNALS OF HORROR: FOUND FICTION. The story is a very dark tale about a serial killer coming to terms with himself and his place in the world, and is titled NOTE-TO-SELF. The anthology is currently available for pre-order on Amazon Kindle: http://tinyurl.com/pmagxcl

I only get inspired to write when a story begins to materialize in my head and it just won't go away and leave me in peace. I have a very difficult time just sitting down and writing for the sake of writing. For me writing, like filmmaking, is a means to an end -- a finished story. I'm not in love with either process, like some lucky people.

Currently, I'm working on the re-release and serialization of my novel PUZZLEMAN, as well as finishing my first short story collection and my second novel, HEATHER'S TREEHOUSE. I'm also trying to figure out what my next film project will be.

Go become a doctor, lawyer, or internet mogul and launch the next Google, Facebook, or Twitter. You'll be much happier with a million dollars in your wallet. But if you must write, try to simply enjoy the creative process and becoming lost in other worlds.

It's a whole lot less expensive than filmmaking. And you can simply roll out of bed, make a mocha, and get to work without even considering a shower and a shave.

Well, primarily I don't deal with it. I usually have so many projects on my plate with film and writing that my real problem is getting focused on what to attack first, which can too often lead me down a dark road of feeling overwhelmed, which results in devastating motivational issues. I would call my real problem "Life Block".
