Since I decided to write back in 2007 I just write. I can't stop myself. I can't seem to go a day or more without writing. I wake up, I get my day going and it's there on my mind to write. Everyday it's like this for me.

Write a lot, read a lot as Stephen King would advise. And it's true. If you don't read, you loose that spark and if you don't write you'll never know how to get what's inside of you onto the page.

I write whatever comes to my mind. Free writing is what this is called. You allow the mind to write without trying to fix anything as you go along. It might not make any sense but in the end it helps to clear out the cache. Also, long drives with no radio..just you and the road. The mind wants to entertain itself so getting away from stimuli will get those creative engines revving.

I am in the rewrite stages of Tokus Numas. It's a Sci-Fi I wrote over two years ago. I shelved it to write The Broken Christmas Tree. I think I needed the time for the 400 pages of Tokus Numas to go stale in my mind. Sometimes coming back after a long period to rewrite helps make the book that much better. Quality is key to story telling, and so time is a critical component.

I started to write this book from old memories of my childhood. My mom was so strong during tough times, and I wanted to capture that somehow. Though as I wrote The Broken Christmas Tree it became apparent I needed to turn to my creative side and fictionalize the story. The story is based of one true event in my life when I was twelve and serves as my foundation of inspiration.
