I believe we write when we have something to say, or something requires channelling. Right now I am not writing much, but this does not worry me.
So I guess I would advise, don't worry. The words will come when they are supposed to come, if they are at all. And so be it. Don't fight any block. Accept and it will melt away soon enough.

Write. Everyday if possible. Journal. Morning pages. Proprioceptive WRITES. Notes taken on trains, in coffee shops - snippets of conversation, single lines of description... they can all be utilised later. The more you write, the better you will get.

HOUSEHOLD STORIES/Katei Monogatari (from 2017) is a tour around the house we lived in for ten years in Japan. I offer a writing programme, Drawing on the Writer Within (www.angelajeffs.co.uk), and Level 4 asks students to begin an 8-week project (rather than completing weekly assignments). I began HH simply to set the pace... became totally involved, and completed it the following year. It then sat on ice during a move to Scotland after 3/11, and I resurrected it this summer last.
