Wanted you to know if you ever wished to turn a particular book (my fav) into a movie? Given today’s tech and the hacker vs norm war that seems to be on going. I figured Fear the year 2099 would be a good movie given these days it’d be a satire of reality of sort with a sci-fi twist of course. Could even poke fun at the social norms of todays society and the misuse or poor use of technology from social to corp.
John Peel I'd love to turn ALL of my books into movies! But, yes, 2099 would be a very good place to start. When I wrote it, I tried to invent all kinds of stuff that couldn't be filmed, but these days with CGI, anything is possible. And a few warnings about technology wouldn't hurt, especially with the increase in AI in use nowadays.

Hi John I have been a huge fan of your work for a long time I got one of the first prints of the diadem series as it was coming out. I am now an artist trying to break into comics and I am still deeply inspired by the series I was wondering if you would be open to discussing with me about an online comic book adaptation of the series? I also understand if you don’t want that I do not want to disrespect you in anyway.
John Peel Thank you for your kind words about Diadem. As far as adapting the stories, you'd have to talk to my agent/attorney about that. Would you like their address?

Is there any way to get your Doomsday 2099 book series without a very hefty price tag? I read the series when I was younger and told my niece a bit of the story that I remember. It was so long ago though that I only remembered like the basic plot of book 1 and now she wants to read the series. The book is priced at 45 USD on Amazon which is a bit crazy to me.
John Peel And to me, too. Sadly, the books have been out of print for years. I do have a very few copies of a couple of the later books in the series, but no book 1 I'm afraid.

Any chance of the Diadem series coming to e-book in English?
John Peel None at the moment, I'm afraid. Though it is a good idea.

John Peel I wish I was, because I loved doing them. But it doesn't look very likely, I'm afraid, as I'm kept very busy with my other stories. I'm writing a Dracula story right now.

John Peel I'm glad that I inspire you! I was inspired myself by a number of good writers. Perhaps one day you will end up inspiring other people to write as well. Thank you for wanting to send me something, but I've run out of places to put things - I buy too many books!

I was wondering if you have any story ideas such as characters, items, or places that you've thrown out or given up on that I can use for one of my stories? The story that I'm thinking of is about an island where all story bits end up if they are thrown out or given up on. I've asked other authors so I can get a variety and some truth to the story. John Peel Hi Hannah - Sounds like a fun idea! I can't honestly think of anything I've ever abandoned, though. I tend to be slow to start writing until I know what I'm up to, and then I plow determinedly on to the bitter end. Hmmm... Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?
John Peel Well, any question about favorites always depends on your mood. Right now, I would say it has to be Shasta (Cor) and Aravis from C.S. Lewis's "The Horse And His Boy". I love their wonderful reason for getting married: "Aravis also had many quarrels (and, I'm afraid even fights) with Cor, but they always made it up again; so that years later, when they were grown up they were so used to quarrelling and making it up again that they got married so as to go on doing it more conveniently."

Will there be a third book in the Dragonhome series? I recall there being plans for a third a few years ago?
John Peel There will be indeed - in about a month! The finishing touches are now being put on "The Siege Of Dragonhome", which should be available as a print edition and e-book from Amazon in a few short weeks. I hope you enjoy it.

Why did the cover of The Secret of Dragonhome change with the second edition? Just curious. Really enjoyed the book :)
John Peel The new edition is self-published, but I didn't have the rights to use the original cover. I needed to do the reprint quickly, so I made up my own cover!

i have all the diadem books except number 10 the book of doom maybe you can tell me why the book is so expensive i mean places are charging over 50 bucks for this book?
John Peel It's because the book is out of print, I'm afraid. Some places take advantage of that and hike the prices up. I don't have any spare copies of that one myself, so I can't sell you one. I usually buy from Abebooks.com, but you're right - those prices are crazy!

John Peel He's mad as anything! Books 11 and 12 tell you how he responds - "Book of Time" and "Book of Games". They're available from Amazon Books either in print or as an eBook now.
