I like Gabrielle Allon and his (now) wife Chiara as written by Daniel Silva. They survive the rough and tumble life of The Office, have more than their share of ups and downs and feel like a believable and not over-sugary husband and wife team

I love to write about things that are current and topical. I often get inspiration from scanning the news to find snippets that catch my eye and that, when properly researched, I think will be great to include within a future book plot. I particularly enjoy reading about new technological advances that can enhance my plots and add an interesting edge. For The Gambit, researching how a hacker might able to hack both a mobile phone and a laptop device was fascinating!

Write lot and lots! It may sound obvious, but it has been true for me - my writing has definitely improved, the more I write. I also think that every writer writes in a different way, so you need to find a rhythm that works for you. I tend to write in one week blocks: solid immersion in the characters, no phones, no distractions, just me and my laptop, on my own. That wouldn't work for everyone, but it seems to work for me!
