Layla Dorine With the loss of my original publisher all of my works were in limbo for almost a year. Now that I've found a new home for everything I will be returning to work on the second Mauritanian book with plans to release in early spring in time for Valentine's day.
Layla Dorine I would go to Asgard, I would love to see the Norse gods, meet them, talk to them, listen to their stories, eat in the great hall with heroes and see their powers at work. I would want to spend time in the library there as well, soaking up knowledge and ancient history.
Layla Dorine The original publisher of broken Prince closed its doors and I've had to regime the story. It is being prerelease in august and will be available on Amazon and ku
Layla Dorine Hi Twisted.
My publisher closed down over the winter, and now I'm in the process of getting my books re-released through my new publisher, Encompass Ink. Broken Prince is slated to be out again by July.
Layla Dorine Hi Kevin, yes there will be a second and potentially third book to Broken Prince Mismatched Eyes. Book two will feature Luc and I expect to be finished writing it in fall of 2017.
Layla Dorine Hi Fadia hope you are enjoying Broken Prince mismatched Eyes, yes, there will be another book in the saga. I'm shooting for a trilogy at this point. Book two has been outlined already and will focus heavily on Luc.
Layla Dorine Hi Stephanie. It's wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed Guitars and Cages. I thoroughly enjoyed writing it and have really come to love Asher and Conner and all the rest of their little family. I'm pleased to say that yes, there is a sequel in the works, two of them actually, the second one is over half completed and picks up a few weeks after Guitars and Cages left off. I'm also planning Alexia's story to come after that, with some happy feel goods for all. (Yes, even Cole, mean as he's been) I can't wait to share more of their story with you and all of the rest of my readers. Thank you for joining Asher and Conner on their journey :)
Layla Dorine The one I am currently writing is a sequel to one I finished last year. It's kind of a mix of leftover ideas that didn't fit in the first novel and a new idea that popped in my head when I was taking pictures on afternoon. I hate unredeemable characters, so leaving one of my favorite characters as a 'bad' guy just never sat well with me so I decided to give him his own story and a chance to fix some of the wrongs from the first book.
Layla Dorine So many things inspire me. Music, a walk in the woods, sunsets, reading, fishing, gardening, pottery, I get inspired while I cook, there is just no end, really to the things that spark a story. I don't think its a matter of getting inspired to write, I just write when the characters start talking. Usually it's with a 'what if' type of mentality, because I write to see what happens next. The characters drive the story, I just record it and I have days when I'm shocked to see where the story ends up.
Layla Dorine For the month of January I will be attempting to finish a novel I started early last year. It is a sequel to a novel currently in the beta read/revision process.
Layla Dorine Just do it. I think too many people let fears and doubts hold them back. They worry that the idea isn't going to be good enough, or that they don't have a good enough grasp on structure or grammar. The only way that an idea is going to become a story is just to put it on paper and build it
Layla Dorine That no story is ever wrong. Maybe what I write won't appeal to everyone, maybe to some the characters are too flawed or the world too accepting, but I love the freedom of being able to write the world that is in my head, not the reality that we live in.
Layla Dorine I head to the woods. There's something about the calm, peacefulness of a forest in almost any season, that gets the ideas flowing. I even have snowshoes so I can go out int he woods in winter. Sometimes I just sit on a log and watch the trees sway and the animals scampering around. I got to the river too, look for rocks, listen to the water flowing. Seems like the closer I am to nature the less fuzzy my brain is and the clearer I can hear the characters.
