Join Critique groups and go to conferences. Make sure to submit your work to editors, agents, contests and other writers. Learn from everything you do and keep honing your craft. Never take rejection personally.

I think writer's block only occurs when you've been away from the project for too long. You have to really be intimate with the story and the characters for the WIP to be fresh in your mind. Then the plot and the dialogue flow. Also, if the story isn't plotted out scene by scene then you have no way of knowing where you're going. Plotting is usually the culprit.

I reread the Davinci Code while on vacation in Corsica this summer. I also reread Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling, one of my faves. I also read a romance that I loved by Julie James called About that Night.
