I love this question! Hm... fortunately we don't have any missing things that matter, or pipes breaking randomly... the biggest mystery is what the future holds. The Loveboat, Taipei film is underway with script and casting, and I have 12 more projects I'm working on. I'm excited to see where it all goes!

Horror is my least favorite genre! I used to watch Stephen King movies with my church youth group (yes, go figure) and would keep my eyes closed. Maybe it would have been less scary if I hadn't!

The ability to share stories and ideas with other people, and to see those ideas go out into the world and take root and grow.

I work on multiple projects at a time, so when I'm stuck on one thing, I can shift to another. Or within the same project, I don't write in chronological order, so I work on the part that I feel emotionally connected to in that moment. I usually have enough work that there is always something to do, even if it's as simple as copyediting a nearly finished manuscript (which I'm doing now with Loveboat Reunion) or checking that there are three of five senses on every page, a writing tip I learned from a friend early in my writing journey. I also will share works with trusted readers who can give me feedback and that helps me push through hard sections.

Thanks for the question! It is underway -- we are working with wonderful screenwriters and it has been such a surreal experience to read the script! I'll be sharing more soon on social media (follow on TikTok & Instagram @abigailhingwen), but for me to see my characters and story and heart on the screenplay page is a bit like Loki coming face to face with another Loki!

I absolutely devoured The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I discovered it because Amazon told me people who bought Loveboat, Taipei also bought it, and I loved it! What a perk of being an author :) I read it right after I came back from a trip to Paris with my husband. It's delicious!
I've also read some wonderful non-fiction, which I've profiled on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQeUGUTl5...

Narnia from The Magician's Nephew -- I would grow delicious fruits from the soil that sprouted plants from everything that was planted in it, like a toffee tree!

My head is constantly swimming with ideas, so I need to let them out by writing them down. Writing is a release for me and I often don't feel settled in a given day until I've put the words down on a page.

I originally wrote Loveboat, Taipei from four different viewpoints: Ever, Rick, Sophie and Xavier. But all four of their stories couldn't fit into a single novel, so I ended up shifting it all into Ever's point of view. I knew I wanted to continue to tell Xavier's story, so his journey with his father became the backbone of Loveboat Reunion.
