“I dove further into the seas of spiritual allusions and riddles. As a result, the door leading to the symbolism of this [human] figure was opened for me and I saw that the Pen of Divine Power had made it a cipher of the original Muhammadan Form. Therefore, every human figure is a cipher containing secrets from that figure of plenitude and All-Merciful element, and is connected to it just as branches are connected to their root....”
“Spiritual frigidity develops because of egotistical desires that lie on the carpet-spread of caprice within the Satanic presence. There are three ways to shake one's soul free of these desires. The first way is to remember, recall, and engage in mutual reminders about the Muhammadan Essence. This is for those who have had an inkling of a taste of its love. The second way is to remind oneself of the bounties of Paradise and what Allah has prepared within it for those who put forth efforts for it. The third way is to visit the people of Allah among the living and the deceased, send abundant prayers upon our master the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace), vigilantly guard the five prescribed prayers in their times in congregation, speak only as much as absolutely necessary (whether it pertains to religious matters or daily matters), and to keep oneself aloof from others. This is the remedy for those who have been made to suffer from spiritual frigidity.”
“Let us suppose there's person who regularly recites the Quran, invokes Allah, and sends prayers upon our master the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace); if he sits and keeps company with oppressors, it is inevitable that he will steal some of their darkness, bit by bit. The first thing that will be removed from him is the sweetness of remembrance from his heart. After that, the remembrance in his heart will be removed until nothing of it remains for him except remembrance upon his tongue. And if he continues to associate with oppressors then even that will be removed from him!”

“Most of the warnings against denying the Awliya' and their marvels are directed to those who encounter Awliya' and their marvels in their own lifetime, so one should take this scale by which he can measure and see if he is among those who deny Allah's friends or among those who accept them. When a contemporary speaks of miracles and marvels and is said to be one of Allah's friends, what is his immediate reaction? If he finds that his heart expands and he feels joy and tastes sweetness when hearing about the miracles, then let him rejoice at Allah's favor and thank Him, for he is among Allah's righteous servants and will not leave this lower world until he, too, attains sainthood. Such will be Allah's generous gift to him for having rejoiced at His favor upon a fellow believer...”

“I have nothing to say to a person who has yet to taste passionate love for my master [the Prophet], Allah bless him and give him peace. Without love for him, there is no way anyone can taste what I have written in my books.”
“Scholars of the outward, even if they are profligates, are nobler than the so-called scholars of the inward who only quote from the books of the Sufis, even if they are pious.”
“No individual can encompass the profundity and depth of meanings within the Prophet's words except him, Allah bless him and give him peace.”
“Prayers upon the Prophet will become the Elixir in the latter age when all means of spiritual refinement will fade into oblivion except for his means, for he is the sun that will never set until the Day of Resurrection. One of the secrets of Allah’s wisdom is that a sick person should neither be given strong medicines nor rich foods; rather, a physician should prescribe him gentle-acting medicines and gentle foods until he regains his health and is able to eat rich foods. It is the same with regard to the religion: it has become weak and sickly in this latter age, therefore it can only be remedied by patience and nourished with prayers upon the Prophet, as they contain the secret for re-establishing equilibrium. As for the lights of other forms of remembrance, their food is too powerful, and the medicines of spiritual struggle are also too strong. Understand this!”
