First of all, whenever you fail to succeed at something, you enter the “learning zone”. In this state your brain is capable of learning new things that you would otherwise never learn. Thanks to this, your chances of managing a similar situation in the future are increased.
Second of all, in spite of failure, just trying was already beneficial. It means you have left your comfort zone and have performed an act of small heroism. As my grandfather used to say,
<< “Even falling flat on your face is a step forward.” >>”
