Jennifer I enjoyed your book. I am recommending it to friends on LibraryThing as well as here on Goodreads.

I wondered if it was autobiographical to some extent - for example, you had Chela learn to read the way you did. Your description of the popular group and how they treated those who were not a part of their group was so real. It took me right back to 7th grade... Yuck. A sweet, sad story. I love the family being central, loving, yet very real at the same time.
