If you are looking for a romantic story of passion with many references to Fae mythology, Emerald Fire is the story for you. Emerald Fire has a historical feel to the setting and time period that enhanced the reading. Honey is a wonderfully rich character that is naive and wants to see the good in everyone. She is forced to make some tough choices and is faced with betrayal on many sides, yet still comes out stronger for it. Amberon is so uncaring and closed minded. I could literally see her hatred killing her and poisoning the rest of the town. I really liked the information on the mythology of the time with Freya and the Fae. Emerald Fire only added to my own knowledge of the beliefs of that historical time period. My belief is that Emerald Fire is just the first in a series of books that will reveal not only more information about Honey but about her family as well.
