Rhys David My book is based around a collection of more than 50 letters and more than 100 photogrpahs sent home between 1915 and 1918 by a soldier serving in the…moreMy book is based around a collection of more than 50 letters and more than 100 photogrpahs sent home between 1915 and 1918 by a soldier serving in the Near East in World War One. I have made the text of the letters available on my website but decided they needed to be set in the context of the campaigns he and his fellow-soldiers from the 53rd (Welsh) Division served in in Gallipoli,Egypt, Sinai and Palestine. For this purpose I drew on official military histories and memoirs and other historical sources.(less)
