Frauke Besteman was born 1980 in Bonn, as second child to a Dutch mother and a German father and grew up in a small village in Northrine-Westfalia.

Writing is her biggest passion since she was litte, but it is thanks to a row of lucky coincidences that she published her first novel in 2015 under an alias. In September 2016 followed her first German novella. After mainly publishing in English, she is now also focussing on the German market.
