Every Sunday I would post a short essay on the more thoughtful aspects of being in the kitchen, encouraging people to pay attention, appreciate, and be present for all that the kitchen has to offer and all that we bring to our encounters and activities there. I did this for 50 Sundays a year, for 6 years. Readers of the column encouraged me to write a book and eventually I listened. (I can be a little slow sometimes!)(less)
