My One True Love, Available Feb. 2, 2011!
Not only am I the proud co-owner of a shiny new publishing house called Astraea Press, I’m also going to get to see my third manuscript (and first short) available the day after Astraea launches! I’m so excited! My One True Love has a gorgeous cover thanks to the uber talented Anastasia Rabiyah! I’ll post it below.
This was the story formerly known as My True Love Gave To Me that was part of a Christmas anthology for Decadent Publishing. After a lot of hoopla with a couple of the authors and internal issues at Decadent, I got my rights back it will now be published with Purple Sword Publications. I’m very blessed to have been asked to submit to this press and I know My One True Love has an amazing home! Traci runs a tight ship and is extremely professional.
Stay tuned for more interviews and updates on Astraea as well as my own writing! Hope everyone has a great 2011, mine is starting out wonderfully![image error]

Tinseltown is available now!
For those of you looking for a good Christmas read, Tinseltown is your book! You can buy it here or here. I’d love to hear what you think!
With Tinseltown launch, I also have some exciting news! I originally had another Christmas book coming out with Decadent Publishing, but we’ve agree to change this into a Valentine’s Day book instead. I’m excited! So stay tuned, I’ll have more information on this soon!
For now, enjoy an excerpt from Tinseltown:
“You first,” Zach said with a grin. Seeing the engagement ring on her finger, even now, sent a surge of protectiveness through him. He couldn’t wait until she sported it proudly in public. Would they ever get there?
Delicately, Deb opened the gift. She bit her lip as everyone watched in anticipation. “You really shouldn’t have done this,” she muttered.
“I could say the same for you.” He lifted his gift slightly. She shot him a wry look and opened the velvet box.
Deb gasped and tears shone in her eyes as she revealed a matching wedding band made of diamonds and emeralds.
“I didn’t mean to make you cry,” he whispered so the others wouldn’t hear.
“No, this is just so beautiful!” She fingered the band gently and looked up at him. “But what does this mean, Zach?”
“It doesn’t come without strings, Deb.” His serious gaze caused her expression to sober.
She pulled him closer so they stood face to face. Wrapping her arms around his shoulders, she rested her cheek next to his. He pulled her against him and inhaled deeply. This was exactly how he wanted to feel the rest of his life.
Deb pulled back and looked up at him. “I don’t need fancy diamonds to be happy.”
Zach watched her, wanting so badly for her to love him. “This just makes it official.”
She grinned, but only a small one. “I’m confused.”
The room was so quiet, a pin could ping off the carpet and sound like a bell toll. It dawned on him with everyone standing around it felt like an intimate wedding. Zach never even thought to ask Deb if she regretted not having her family there.
But he would give it to her now on Christmas, at four in the morning.
He settled his gaze on her neck and toyed with a strand of hair, afraid he might tear up and cry himself. “What do you say, Deb? Will you wear these rings to remind you of how much I love you?” Zach glanced back into her eyes only long enough to make sure she knew he meant it. “Will be my wife?”
Deb’s gaze settled on his lips. He touched her cheek, the skin velvet underneath his fingertip.
Looking out to her family, she seemed to realize his intentions.
Her eyes returned to his. “I will,” she murmured.
Zach looked around for the ring and Eric wheeled it over to him. They watched as he slid the band on her finger, pushing it to rest against the diamond he had given her the previous night.
He shrugged. “We’ve kind of done things backward, so I guess the fact your rings are on backward is fitting, huh?”
She closed her eyes, a soft smile curving her lips and entwined their fingers.
“Kiss the bride!” Deb’s father called out.
Deb slowly looked up and saw they stood underneath the mistletoe. She cocked her eyebrow. “I told you watch out for the mistletoe.”
Zach laughed. “Not a chance.”
In a dramatic gesture, he dipped Deb and met her lips halfway. When he was done, he settled her on her feet as they laughed.
“Now open your gift,” she said when she pulled away.
Only he didn’t have to open it to know the greatest gift was right there in his arms.

20 Questions with Ellen Keener!

Where do you come up with your ideas?
Everywhere. Lol. Sometimes it’s something I overhear, sometimes something I see, I love looking through pictures and Hi-Fructose Magazine, and then a lot of them come from my dreams. I have really weird dreams.
Tell us about your writing routine.
I don’t have anything set in stone. I write when I come home from work, and on weekends. I’m a night owl, so weekends are when most things get done, because I don’t have to get up early for work the next day. If I’m really into what I’m writing and I know I’ll be at the computer for awhile, I do get a whole “tea tray” together. This frequently earns me teasing from my roommate.
What’s your goal ten years from now?
Besides world domination? I’d like to be a teacher for fun and a writer as my main career.
Pepsi or Coke?
Diet Coke. No comparison.
Favorite TV show?
I recently discovered Supernatural, which I love. I also love the Vicar of Dibley.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
London. I LOVE London. I tried to move there when I finished college, but it just wasn’t meant to be. I love the history and the proximity to so many historical places. It’s weird really, because I loathe big cities, but I really loved that place.
Favorite Muppet?
Rizzo or Pepe the King Prawn.
Favorite characters in a book?
Hamlet. Jane Eyre/Mr. Rochester, Darcy and Elizabeth. That’s three books, but I just can’t choose!
Favorite characters on TV?
I love Dean on Supernatural, and Henry from Blood Ties. Both bad boys hiding good boys. And HOT.
Ideal date?
Dinner, talking and walking through park/mall/waterfront. And I’m a sucker for a kiss on the back of the hand on the first date.
How do you get past writers block?
Most of the time I just sit down and MAKE myself write. Even if its crap. I feel like sometimes you just have to get the crap out and things get better. I also use writing prompts (which are usually pictures) and set a word goal and see how that goes.
What are you working on next?
I’m currently in a dilemma. I’ve got an idea for an urban fantasy I like, wrote about 4000 words and now I’m distracted by an idea for a horror romance. Is that even a category? Its about a woman who owns a cursed house and a TV crew that wants to film a Halloween special there. And while the host is busy trying to seduce her, one of the behind-the-scenes guys attracts her attention instead.
Tell us about your latest release.
Blood Moon is a paranormal romance about…well… here’s the blurb – Fugitive shifter, Aria Legreve, is always on the run. With her own life at risk, she helps a badly beaten shifter to his Pack, knowing the danger her meddling entails. Hoping to use her status as an Outcast and be set free, her world changes when she meets head on with no other than her Mate—who is dead.
Alpha Lukas MacLeod has been searching for his wife for the past year, until Aria walks straight into his lair. Fate intervenes and gives them a second chance. Caught up in an intricate web of lies and prophecies in the making for generations, Aria and Lukas must discover a way to balance the darkness in their world, but will their love be strong enough to save their pack and each other?
How long did it take you to write it?
About a year, give or take. It had been in many incarnations before that, so I guess you could say 3 or 4.
Give us 3 random facts about your book.
My favorite character is Thaddeus, not the MC (although I love Lukas and Aria too!)
The chalice in the book is based on the Gundestroup Cauldron, which is the only known artifact with a picture of Cernunos without a beard.
My mother’s family is from the county I named in West Virginia.
How did you come up with the title?
The title started out as Blood on the Moon, and then I shortened it to Blood Moon. It turns out that when I looked up exactly what a Blood Moon was, it matched the full moon that Aria and Lukas’ showdown occurs under. Nice coincidence, yes?
Are any of your characters based on real people?
Yes. But sadly, not any of the boys. lol
When was ides for your story born?
Oh geez. I have no idea, actually. I’ve written several shapeshifter stories and somewhere along the way, this one was born. I *think* it might have partially been based on a dream.
Who is your favorite author?
I have 4. Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Katie MacAlister, and Bill Bryson. Not necessarily in that order. And it changes frequently.
What would most of your readers never suspect about you?
Oh man, do I go for the real shocker or the mild “say what?”… That I still, to this day, cannot sleep with the closet door open. And if I have a really bad day, I still sleep with a stuffed animal. Lol.

Doubting Thomas Trailer
Look at the trailer for Doubting Thomas! I’m so excited that it’s finally done!
August 19, 2010
Have you bought Doubting Thomas?
I’m so anxious to see how Doubting Thomas is doing. Regardless of whether I’ve sold 100 or 1 copy of the book, it’s neat to know that I’ve been through the process and have a book out for the general public! It’s nerve wracking to think about what other’s might think, but at the same time, I know that’s how I grow and become a better writer.
I’ve got several things scheduled in the next few months, not to mention the release of my next book, Tinseltown from Lyrical Press. Just when things start to slow down from the release of Doubting Thomas, I’ll have to gear up for Tinseltown. Not that I’m complaining, in fact, it’s been really fun! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know people I wouldn’t have otherwise met if it weren’t for my book bringing us together.
I have also been hard at work on my next book, which is untitled for right now. I’ve been on a roll and have written about 40,000 in three weeks. I hope to start shopping it around in the next month or so.
So…have you bought your copy of Doubting Thomas yet? If not, what are you waiting on? The print version should be available on Amazon soon!
