Passing Through Havana

Why "passing"? Because it is such a fine polysemous word that lends itself to many meanings. There is going unnoticed, there is passing through and there is pretending to be something one is not, all of which tragically apply to young Claudia in my autobiographical novel.

Passing can also be a fine trait for a writer. It makes you more vigilant and more observant. Perhaps you see more being on the outside looking in. Did not understand this until I finished the novel. Writing reveals.

Passing Through Havana

Why did I chose to use the word "passing" in the title of my novel?
