Waking up in Asia

I recently moved back to Asia after a short time in the US.
Do I miss the US? The short answer is, “no”. I enjoy going back for a little while then after about 1 month I grow tired of it. Asia is different in that you don’t spend the majority of your time in a car. Because of decent public transportation you can walk or take the bus or subway almost anywhere. In the US you have to have a car in most places. In Asia it takes me about 30 minutes to walk to work. So it forces me to be outside at least an hour a day during the week. On the weekends I walk between 5,000 and 18,000 steps on average, depending on my activities of course.
On my way to work I see the locals getting ready to sell vegetables and fruit on the street. I pass by about 20 small breakfast restaurants busy cooking egg sandwiches for hungry customers. Sometimes I’ll grab a coffee at Starbucks and later stop into the 7-11 to buy something to eat. I pass the university as the retired folks practice their daily Tai Chi, I see students riding bikes to school and others riding scooters to work. I love seeing the people and the vibrant Asian street life as it seems to go non-stop.
