Cover Reveal and a New Goodreads Giveaway

The Art of ObsessionThe Art of Obsession
(Frankie Johnson FBI Local Profiler #2)

It's official! Book two of the FBI Local Profiler series is slated for release on September 7, 2021! Yes, I hear your groans--it seems like a long way out, but keep watching this newsletter as there will be several opportunities to grab an early copy this summer. Do you like the cover? Let me know your thoughts at writer@lorilacefield.com.

I've had plenty of time to write lately as here in Denver we received our 4th largest snowstorm ever last week and well, nobody was going anywhere for a few days. Even the 4WD was getting stuck because it was such a heavy, wet snow. Check out the pictures of my patio. It's pretty bad when you first have to dig out the snow shovel before you can dig out your driveway. Luckily, it all melted within a week--just in time for a new spring storm warning with another 6-12 inches forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
I guess I'll just pour another glass of wine and keep writing. :)

Thank you to those of you who shared the link to the new Women of Redemption bundle last month. I've continued to keep the Kindle boxset price at the low $2.99 price (the regular price of one Kindle book) and readers only need to download the one boxset to get all three titles. I also have a new Goodreads Giveaway for 100 free Kindle copies of The Tattoo Artist. To enter, or share with friends, just click here:
https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...

And here's the link to the three-book boxset in case anyone missed it last time around. It's a great pandemic deal for three books, at just .99 each!

I'm still looking for your opinions on audiobooks. Tell me your thoughts! How many do you listen to in an average year? Do you prefer them over print or kindle? Let me know at writer@lorilacefield.com.
That's it for now. Until next month, stay healthy and warm, and of course, keep reading!

New Boxset Out Just in Time for Valentine's Day!

Announcing a New Boxset!
Greetings dear readers and Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you find some time to snuggle with your favorite someone this weekend to keep warm as it's looking to be a particularly cold and snowy one across most of the U.S. Winter for sure has its drawbacks, but sitting by a warm fire while mother nature rages outside is not one of them. In fact, it's one of my favorite things to do, especially with a good book and glass of wine in hand, which is probably just how I'll spend my Valentine's Day this year. (Snuggly pomeranians bonus)

You may remember that last month I discounted my Women of Redemption thrillers to just .99. Many readers snatched up copies, and I received more than a few thank you's as people continue to struggle financially during the pandemic. I've since had to raise my prices back up (I have to eat too :)) but, knowing the need to escape with a good read at a cheap price is there, I've created a new three-book boxset and priced it at $2.99. That keeps each title at the .99 price, but readers only need to download the one boxset to get all three titles. I'm not openly advertising this offer, but it's on Amazon, so feel free to share with friends and family who could stand to beat the mid-winter blues with three great reads!
Here's the link to the new three-book boxset.

https://amzn.to/3d6q0Hn

In other exciting news, I'm currently working on book two in the Frankie Johnson, FBI Profiler Series, The Art of Obsession, and am looking into creating audiobook versions of the Women of Redemption series. What are your thoughts on audiobooks? How many do you listen to in an average year? Let me know your thoughts at writer@lorilacefield.com. I'd really like to know if it's worth the investment.
Until next month, stay healthy and warm, and of course, keep reading!

An artist haunted by her mother’s murder. An unknown and unstoppable outlaw. When their paths cross, all clues point to a killer.

Reno, Nevada. Nine years after her mother’s still unsolved murder, former homeless teen Zoë Cruse has found stability with a husband, child, and a career as a tattoo artist. But when a biker comes in and asks for new ink, Zoë can’t help but draw comparisons between one of the images on his back and her mother’s death. Worse, his other ink appears to represent a deadly pattern, one that may indicate he’s a serial offender.

Determined to unearth the truth despite her husband’s disbelief, Zoë researches the images and infiltrates the man’s notorious motorcycle club in search of evidence. But with the police, federal agents, and a rival gang all in pursuit of the same outlaw, her quest for closure may end with more than one person in the morgue…including her family.

Can she unravel the mystery and find justice before she ends up six feet under?

The Advocate is FREE!

The Advocate (Women of Redemption #1) by Lori Lacefield The Advocate is FREE Oct. 11-15

Greetings dear readers. Okay, I know many of you have read book one in the Women of Redemption Suspense Thriller Series, but if you haven't...it's your lucky day! For the next five days, The Advocate is absolutely FREE on Kindle whether you're a part of KU or not. So if you have a Kindle or the Kindle app on your computer, phone, or other tablet (and if you don't - go get that too), click the link and get your FREE book now!

THE ADVOCATE

The Advocate (Women of Redemption #1) by Lori Lacefield The Fifth Juror (Women of Redemption #2) by Lori Lacefield

If you don't know about the Women of Redemption books, then here's a few things to know. Each book is a standalone suspense thriller with the theme of redemption. That means you can read them in any order without getting lost because the characters are different in each book.

The Advocate features former kidnapping victim Palmer Reed, who thinks she's joining a foundation dedicated to helping other victims like herself, but soon discovers the dark conspiracy and murderous secrets that lie beneath the esteemed organization. Think of it like The Firm meets the old movie The Star Chamber.

The Fifth Juror features former heroin addict Jess Dawson, who thinks her days of sitting on a high profile death penalty case are behind her, until the execution date approaches and the Russian mob appears to give her an ultimatum. Think of it like The Juror meets The Chamber.

Both of these books are available now. The third in the series, The Tattoo Artist, arrives Dec. 1, 2020. The Women of Redemption series: Women who may not be perfect, but perfectly kick-ass when given a second chance.

Ready to give book one a try? Click here for your FREE copy. THE ADVOCATE

Have a good weekend, readers. I hope you are enjoying the fall colors and pumpkin spice lattes. It's my favorite season!

News and more goodies soon (including a Christmas Giveaway) to come!

2020 The Year of Upside Down and Backward

99 Truths (Frankie Johnson Thriller #1) by Lori Lacefield Ah, 2020. What a year it has been. Pandemics, fires, floods... If you're like me, you started out the year with great aspirations - a new decade, hope and optimism a plenty - and now, you're just asking, is it over yet? I keep thinking nothing else crazy can happen, but with three months to go, I'm not holding my breath. The good news is this - there's never been a better time than to escape with a great book.

Which is exactly what I planned to do when I received my first case of author copies of my latest work, 99 Truths, a Frankie Johnson Local Profiler Thriller, just last week. It's always a thrill to receive these books, to see all your hard work finally bound and printed, and ready for the rest of the world to read, and this time was no different.

Or so I thought. Then I opened up the book, and something seemed wrong, very wrong. The title page was there. The copyright page was there. But then there was ... Chapter 43?

Yep. Chapter 43 was the first chapter, not the last. So I closed the book and looked at the cover again. Maybe I had accidentally opened the back instead of the front? I checked it out. No, the front cover was fine. Maybe I opened it upside down? Checked it out again. No, not that either.

Now, fear is pulsing through me. Readers have already ordered the paperback. I proofed advanced reading copies. They were fine. I signed off on the printing. But something was very wrong.

Damn you 2020. Or is it 0202?

That's what was wrong. I discovered the entire book was printed in reverse. And not left to right reverse, but fully in reverse, with chapter 1 beginning on the back page and requiring reading right to left. The book began at page 233 and ended at page 1. The only way to read it was to start and the back and flip the pages left to right.

[Enter Cursing of 2020 here]

Thankfully, my initial panic that all the books were printed this way was alleviated after I checked all the other copies and discovered they were fine. It was just this one. This one screwed up, backwards copy out of a box of 20. Isn't that fitting? One of 20. Let's hope this year is just like my book. A glitch. An anomaly. 2020, or 0202. And now, I have a permanent record of just how crazy the year has been, even in books.

Have a good weekend, readers. And if you need that escape, here's the link to a good book, 99 Truths, (not that I'm biased or anything. Wink :))
