With two children and a husband that likes to spend time with me and the family, it is hard to find time to work. Really my own hang up is finishing a project. I love starting new ones. Finishing up all the tedious loose ends is what drives me insane. (less)

While being given an assignment or even someone telling me of a project of their own I day dream about my own version of it.

I took an introduction course to pottery once upon a time. They were teaching us how to do a dual pinch pot. I got so excited about my design of a dual pinch pot that I ended up finishing my project before the instructor finished their demo. I had literally two pots that I had piece together to look like some deluxe adobe drainage thing where everyone else who had been following step for step had a single large pot that was created from two pinch pots. Some of my best ideas come from instances like that whether they are paintings, books or miscellaneous projects.(less)

Serle is apparently hit or miss for me. I either absolute F*&%$ love her books or their blah. I loved the concept in this newest release. The author always has a hint of something magical that goes on or that IS about her main character. Again, I lov ...more

Artwork is exceptional. The story is breath taking. I got lost however and I almost rared this a 3 star 🌟. I really should have started over and read from the beginning of the series. If this ends with 10 (the next one) thatbis what I'll do. Do jump ...more

This was breathtakingly beautiful. I drifted my way through this short novel by audio. Dream like with poetic descriptions of Grammer and Acadia. Amal El-Mohtar has not let me down yet with a novel. And delightfully surprises me with each read.

“My daughter is seven, and some of the other second-grade parents complain that their children don't read for pleasure. When I visit their homes, the children's rooms are crammed with expensive books, but the parent's rooms are empty. Those children do not see their parents reading, as I did every day of my childhood. By contrast, when I walk into an apartment with books on the shelves, books on the bedside tables, books on the floor, and books on the toilet tank, then I know what I would see if I opened the door that says 'PRIVATE--GROWNUPS KEEP OUT': a child sprawled on the bed, reading.”

“If you truly love a book, you should sleep with it, write in it, read aloud from it, and fill its pages with muffin crumbs.”

“It has long been my belief that everyone's library contains an Odd Shelf. On this shelf rests a small, mysterious corpus of volumes whose subject matter is completely unrelated to the rest of the library, yet which, upon closer inspection, reveals a good deal about its owner.”
