I come from a legal background hence the legal handbooks, but the idea of writing a crime novel came to me after relaying to a friend some experience I had had within the law and him asking whether I had ever considered putting my thoughts down on paper. A Model Murder started with some pencil scribblings jotted down on the back of an envelope. My then literary agent told me that I would have to write more than one book to be taken seriously as a crime writer which led to Wilful Murder and finally Murder in Hand to complete the first Alicia Allen Investigates series.
