Travis W. Inman grew up in the West Texas ranch country, spending his first twenty years cowboying with different ranches. He had a desire to enter the ministry but could never find the proper fit. After serving for a year as a traveling missionary throughout South America and Mexico, he finally found his place—and it required a uniform! The Army was his next adventure, although short-lived. After a year in the infantry, he sustained a life-changing injury and received a medical discharge. He then found his way into civilian service, where he became a field agent with the Department of Homeland Security, working along the northern and southern borders. Both characters are flawed, but their flaws make them even more endearing to the readers. I believe that many of the troubles facing modern day marriages involves a lack of respect between the spouses, which fosters a desire for selfishness, rather than a desire for selfless love. Seniors 2020, I Feel Your Pain. My Graduation Was ... Unique, Too.

The 2020 school year is in various stages of wrapping up, and COVID has taken the stage instead of the graduates. Seeing the graduate's disappointment reminds me of my high school days and how much I hated school, and just how fitting my final day in high school was. Travis Inman The Bugles Are Silent: A Novel Of The Texas Revolution From The Alamo To San Jacinto

I met Mr. Knaggs at the Alamo several years ago and talked with him for quite a while. I found him to be an engaging, fascinating man. I found his book to be a great history on the Independence of Texas, and I learned many things about my native state that I did not know. I'm grateful to him for writing such an important novel, and I've recommended it continually since first discovering it.
