My author contribution is from Contemporary Women’s Fiction, 'An Enlightening Quiche.'
On the subject of LOVE in this week’s blog, I couldn’t resist sharing two of my favorite quotes from my all-time favorite book and film about doomed romance:
'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Brontë – “My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath: a source of little visible delight, but necessary.”
'Casablanca' – “Ilsa, I’m no good at being noble, but it doesn’t take much to see that the problems of three little people don’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.”
Besides the invitation to read our romantic excerpts in ALL ABOUT LOVE, which hopefully will strike your fancy to acquire the book(s) from whence love springs eternal—comment by pasting your own favorite “love” quote from book or film.

Eva’s Byte #214: Leaping Off the Page—DOREEN GALE
NEW RELEASE!
In Character:
Whaddya know! Eva hit the “publish” button at Amazon. MR. WIZARDO is LIVE! The Kindle Edition is available, and the Paperback is in review.
Thanks to Renee Gauthier (RM Designs), who formatted the interior and designed the cover, I’m proud to strut my stuff between the pages.
As Eva already pointed out, this Contemporary novella conveys the central themes of Baum’s classic, but the buck stops there for any other similarities. Scott Crowe, Lyle Forrest, Tim Woodman and I evolve through a life of our own. Each of us grapples with demons, dilemmas, and despair stirred by twists of fate.
Fate brought me to Kansas in the first place. Uprooted from New York, I didn’t exactly fit in with the student population of Franklin High. Struttin’ my stuff in black-on-black and red footwear, three of the most popular girls call me “Wicked Witch of the East” behind my back. I don’t do myself any favors by antagonizing them, putting myself in grave danger. Mr. Wizardo bless his soul, turned my life around.
If not for his funeral, I would never have set foot in Baxter Springs. But, even in death, Mr. Wizardo comes through for me. You’ll see.
As for the other guys, they’ve got their own reasons for wanting to attend the funeral of our former guidance counselor.
For any single gals in the reading pool, Tim Woodman is a good catch. Just sayin’!
May you take a leap of faith by venturing on a soulful journey along the figurative yellow brick road between the pages of MR. WIZARDO. Walk that fine line between magic and realism to discover what destiny holds in store for each of us. If you plan on an extended stay in Baxter Springs, book a room at the Rainbow Hotel.

Eva’s Byte # 396 – Love, Joy, and Hope
Suffice it to say without preaching to the choir, the Christmas season wraps itself around the renewable gifts of love, hope, and joy. Not one to wear my heart on my sleeve, I’d be remiss if I didn’t pay tribute to my sister at this point in time.
Love:
Oh, we had our share of sibling squabbles growing up—she, the adventurous daredevil; me, the demur bookworm. To this day, I recall how she preyed upon my squeamishness for all things that jostled by rocking the Ferris wheel car we occupied while stopped at the tippity-top.
An active outdoor enthusiast, she continues to live on the cutting edge: whitewater rafting – Class V, strenuous hiking, and boxing.
Joy:
When I discovered she will make a full recovery after undergoing ten hours of emergency, open-heart surgery to reconstruct her heart after sustaining a three-fold aortic rupture. It’s a miracle, really!
Hope:
While she has a long road ahead of her, my sister’s strength, resilience, and self-discipline will overcome this temporary setback, one day at a time surrounded by the comforts of home.
In my capacity as a writer, I completed drafting chapter 23 (1651 words) of my Contemporary work in progress. I’m currently drafting chapter 24 (216 words thus far).
*May each of us value the spiritual gifts of love, joy, and hope to better ourselves and humankind.
My sincere appreciation to you for reading this far.
