I found an old Horizon magazine in a closet of my childhood home, the image of a sort of flying goose with a woman at the helm, enough to mesmerize a child, let alone a woman who celebrates whatever feminism she can get. My mother was dying and querulous as she was, I was trying to get purchase on what made up the marriage that begat myself and eight others. Plus--what about the future? What about the future?
