A native of the SF Bay Area, Josh Bertetta attended UC Berkeley where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, combining Anthropology, Native American Studies, and Religious Studies to create his own unique major titled "Cross-Cultural Studies of Indigenous Myths and Religions." Three years later he started his graduate work in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute from where he earned a Ph.D. after writing his doctoral dissertation on self-mutilation.

He currently teaches in the Religious Studies Department at a private university in Austin, TX and spends his time writing flash fiction, essays on religion, myth, and culture (see his blog: joshbertetta.wordpress.com) and has completed his first novel ...more
