Popular books about India--Tales of the Raj

Goodreads .com, the popular web site for book-addicts, has started a new book list to celebrate India’s Independence Day—Saturday, August 15, 2015. The list includes 95 fictional works written about British and post-British India in the order of their popularity. I'd like to thank all those who voted for my books. The address for the site:

My three novels, Maya, The Coiled Serpent, and The River Turned Red have made their way to the top of the List.

The current statistics on August 20, 2015 —

#1--Maya with a score of 599.

#2—The Coiled Serpent with a score of 594

My new book.

What happens when your octogenarian aunt meets a one-eyed waiter in Manhattan after midnight?

Where do you look for someone who has vanished without a trace?

Is there really any hope for the dead?

For answers check out my new book The Twain Shall Meet (August 2015 publication) on amazon.com.

In case of questions I'm ready... Nirmala Moorthy

Maya--your comments

Just want to say Thank You to Goodreads members who read Maya, liked it, and gave it a lot of stars. And one reader said it was “an absolutely fantastic coming of age narrative. Loved it and want to read it all over again.” What a wonderful thing to say! Would you be able to upload this onto Amazon.com as well?
To be able to reach across the world and touch the heart of a total stranger, I think, is the greatest gift that anyone can give or receive…
In case any of you have questions about Maya, or even criticisms—constructive please!—I’m ready to answer. Are there any characters you’d like to tear apart? Feel free to do so. What about the excess of Sanskrit and Tamil words in the book. Irritating? What do non-Indian readers feel about this?
The discussions that follow a book-reading have always been fun for me. And here online everyone can join in at their own convenience…
