Research
It's been a while since I wrote a blog or participated in Goodreads. My excuse is I'm immersed in research for my next book set in occupied France during WII. It's heavy going and requires all my attention.
But I'm getting to the bottom of a long list of books and documents.

Where have all the birdies gone,
Long time ago...
I live in the heart of the south end of the boreal forest, and this year in particular, I was dismayed by the lack of birds. Twenty years ago, I was woken up starting at 3 am, with the first glimmer of light, by robins, then immediately after such a loud chorus of a million bird's voices. This after a whole night of whippoorwill's calls and frogs calls. But I loved it all. Over the years there has been less and less, and this year it is so quiet.
Have we lost the birds or have they moved farther north because the climate has changed?
