Vaughan Jones was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1953. He has retired in Somerset West, near Cape Town, in order to concentrate his energy on writing, thus serving mankind and the concept of one life. For most of his life he worked as an accountant and a financial/business manager, most senior of which was a position as group financial accountant for a large oil company in Cape Town.

In 1974 Vaughan was involved in an horrific motor vehicle accident after which he died three times over the first two days, and then remained in a total coma for three months there-after.
