I was born in Barcelona (Spain) from a German mother. As a teenager I decided to understand what lies behind these language and genes that life imposed on me, so I graduated in German Philology at the Universitat de Barcelona, where I also got a PhD in Romanic Philology.

After devoting myself to the translation and edition of German classic literature (especially Goethe and Thomas Mann), I did some research on Nazism, considered from the perspective of the history of mentalities. So far I have published four historical essays related to German modern history.

The Black Legend of Andorra

I stumbled across the legend of Andorra for the first time when I was investigating the routes across the Pyrenees taken by fugitives fleeing from Nazism. In case you don’t know it, Andorra is a tiny little country like Lichtenstein or Monaco situated just in the middle of the French-Spanish border. Gifted by a wonderful mountainous landscape, now it is a prosperous shopping paradise and ski area.
