Jack Doyle was a key player in the growth of the consumer electronics industry in the United States. In 1967, he become the first president of the American division of Tokyo-based Pioneer Electronics. In 2006, he was inducted into the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame.

During his time at Pioneer, he made 80+ trips to Japan. This experience provided rich detail for his novel “The Zaibatsu Chronicle,” over half of which takes place in the Tokyo area.

Before he turned to turned to his second career as a writer, Jack was an avid golfer. He's played 400 courses including Pebble Beach, Spy Glass and Doral. All those afternoons on the course were the inspiration for The Truth About Golf, his funny take on the sport.
