Writing romantic comedy isn’t very different from writing fantasy. I still torture my characters, except in a contemporary setting, it’s more of a social torture rather than a physical one.

Hurricane Coralee is a companion novella to Pixely Ever After about a man of few words stuck in the ultimate buddy adventure with the queen of chit chat. I am an introvert in real life, but as a writer, I enjoy torturing introverted characters with a variety of awkward social situations.

I have 2 Alphasmart Neos:

-The mint Alphasmart I bought in 2009 at full price ($230) and it has never crashed on me, except this year… and no, I wasn’t able to recover the file. Now I upload everything by the end of the day.

I worked in a lab back in college. One day I was paired with a PhD mentor, presumably to teach me to be a better scientist. We went to the liquid nitrogen room and my mentor handed me the hose to the pressure tanks.

“Okay, open her up,” she said, squatting down with a bucket to catch the spray of liquid nitrogen.

“Um… Are you sure?”

She nods. “Full blast.”
